PS: This quote also applies to women who think their husbands are so stupid. They are not. They married you. It would have taken some intelligence to choose you over the others.

I've been married for 52-years, and I don't recall that either of us gave much thought in 1971 (we met in August and married in December)to whether the other was dumb or smart. I know that, for my part, Peggy's brown eyes, shapely legs, and gentleness, led intelligence among her attractions. Indeed, her intelligence was assumed by me just as, I'm sure, my intelligence was assumed by her, although I daresay that if either of us had given thought to such things, we would have been likely to see what we wanted to see.
These thoughts remind me that I don't recall you talking about your own relationship status--I would be interested if you should care to do so.

This leads me to ask about your history with relationships.
I don't know any young people, but I would be surprised if, here in America, they take joy in making their wives feel inferior. As for elderly people, I have observed that men often take a backseat to their wives, partly because men fail first, and partly because women lose their belief in the virtues that they once saw in their men.
This particular post was based on something I observed in another couple.
