What to absolutely not miss on Netflix India

This is a list of hidden gems on Netflix India. The list that conclusively proves that human intelligence beats AI and algo driven recommendations any day.

Do Paise ki Dhoop, Chaar Aane ki Baarish

This movie by Deepti Naval ji is that rare thing that comes along once in a million years. Away from all the hype and the hoopla, this is what pure excellence in story telling looks like.

Notting Hill
Absolutely Old Fashioned, famous, and lives up to the fame.

I disagree.

'Do paise ki dhoop.. ' is no cinematic gem but just a poorly made film.
You are not normally wrong with your reviews and that is why I chose to comment on this.

Not only it is full of cliches, the film reeks of poor acting from Manisha Koirala, who can't get hold of her voice and screeches for most part. This is also the worst I have seen Rajit Kapoor act. Most of the story plots are absurd, a poor cliched portrayal of gays, shoddy production value, jarring bad music... The idea a gay man can be 'fixed' and needlessly attributing it to 'daddy issues'... the list is endless..

The central idea of struggle and a whore harboring a queer as a 'housemaid' for a disabled son (who doesn't half look disabled) had a lot of potential..and was wasted by a first time director... "Deepti Naval Ji". I am sure this story read better on paper than depicted on film.

Save your time, is what I would say.
