Someone asked me this really nice question, "So, do you support (the name of the political party) or are you a part of the neutral majority?"
The Neutral majority, so far.
The only certainty in my life is that I will not vote the Congress until the 1984 riots cases are completed and those found guilty are punished according to the crime.
That leaves me with a choice between the criminals (Modi's party, SP, BSP ) and the idiots (CPM). Thats a tough choice.
But one thing i do know, this year, the Lok Sabha elections will see me voting. And i hope they will see a lot of other bloggers voting too..
Do you support someone, or are you a part of the neutral majority?

Use your rite of 49-0 if you find no one worthy !!
I dont know whom to vote for... sigh :-(
Vote for young and educated leaders irrespective of party - so that we do not have our leaders attending child marriages, and worrying about pub culture, or about saving us from outsiders in our country (here the guys is young but still dangerous)...
your synonyms given to the parties are most appropriate.
well i still dnt kno who voted for d congress in d previous elections...m sure even congress dsnt kno n were mighty surprised when they came to power...
as for this yr...well its gonna b a vy tough choice...m still contemplating over it
well...here's my bet..
If BSP wins anywhere between 55-65 seats in UP (total 85 seats) - Mayawati is set to be the next PM...(with of course lots of idiots backing her!)...
So take your chances...
Hmmm... I voted in the last state elections here last year...
and I stand grossly disappointed by the performance of the govt I actually voted in :-(
i agree with the comments of IndianHomeMaker...
Need to think of the best in the lot...not the party.. All parties are equally rubbish...
Unfortunately in our kind of system a good individual too is wasted in any party...so really little hope.
Or maybe try this new ProfessionalsPartyofIndia...
i agree with IHM,.....
dont look at party but at the individuals and vote for educated people... :)
and i come in the neutral category
nuetral. since i am not in india :-)
I can't vote either because I don't live there, but I know you will do your best to try to get the best possible people for your country.
Sometimes in politics it is a difficult choice. It's not always a choice of who is the best man, sometimes it's a choice of who is the lesser of the two evils. But still it's always important to vote.
ExSeno...
Not being physically in country is no excuse... you can register for postal ballot as long as you are eligible to vote.
I support.
I know a lot of people are opting for the BJP - only because they don't want to vote for the Congress.
I experience a helplessness inside when people say they are voting for the BJP, primarily for their Hindutva agenda. A lot of the love I have for India is because the nation-makers defined it as a 'secular' republic.
Are idiots the only choice we have to run a nation of billions with lots of potential? Saying this, I cringe. I have the choice to do something about it but like the rest of the common billions, I choose to sit on my ass and lament about it. Conscience doesn't mince words for me.
I looked up Professionals Party of India suggested by !!! in this comments section. I am very interested. Still neutral though coz I am yet to read their manifesto.
Well... on the contrary I find the claims of all other parties that they are secular really bogus and humbug. If at all anyone is open and clear about its ideaology, its BJP... and a lot of people support them because their words resonate with those who are sick of minority appeasement and vote bank politics of all the other parties. If Congress sucks upto Imam and maulvi's of Jamia - they are secular, but getting seen with someone in saffron robes is deemed communal - thats double standards of the mainstream parties that sucks. If congress cries croc's tears for victims of Gujrat riots they are secular - and if someone talks of the plight of Hindus in Kashmir -thats communal. If there are riots after people are burnt alive in a train in Godhra - its communal carnage by Modi - and if there is massacre of Sikhs after Indira is shot - its natural tremors/reaction of a big tree falling...and Bhagat/Tytler/Sajjan are awarded cabinet honour...
That double-standard my dear - for those who see it and cringe at it - drives people to BJP... apart from the horror of being led by someone purely for their surname.
That said - I so strongly wished that BJP didnt get carried away with its pub/valentine affiliates and stood focused on the India-shining idea (yeah, the theme didnt work - but the intentions and application was positive!)
I voted for BJP in the last years Karnataka elections - and it bothers me when the govt did a bad policing and media job of the church/pub fiascos...
It always seems to be a bad choice no matter who you look at. And then you have to live with what they actually choose to do...
HI hitch writer: :-) me neither.
Hi IHM: I love the way you put a point across. It makes a lot of sense.
Hi Balvinder: Thank you, and thats the pity.
Hi mayz:me 2.
Hi Anonymous: Everyone in UP shld read this.
HI !!! : Look, Gujarat was as macabre as Kashmir,Orissa and 1984. A riot is a riot. Period.
At least the victims of these genocides should not be divided on the lines of which community died and which political party supported. We know what happens at these pogroms. We also know that all the parties are responsible.
If i cannot forgive the congress for kashmir and 1984, i cannot also forgive the BJP for Gujarat. Bilquis yakoob Rasool is as much my sister in agony as A Kak or Gurinder Kaur. I know how it feels. I cannot forgive anyone who caused this - to anyone else.
Congress is not a secular party. COngress has a religion called Gandhi Family.
Hi Ajit: Lets look up some independent ppl and this new party.. why not!
Hi Raaji: m tempted to say, Good for u!
Hi Exseno: It's not always a choice of who is the best man, sometimes it's a choice of who is the lesser of the two evils. But still it's always important to vote.
- couldnt agree more. Great quote!
HI Hobo: you support what?
:-)
Hi Vinisha: I will follow u to the pages of this party. Lets see what comes out of it.
You should move here, our politicians are criminals and idiots - we don't have separate parties for that!!
I am all for sanity.
Yes I will vote, even if it is to render my ballot paper useless.
Just registered for a voter's id on jaagore.com. But not sure who to vote for, yet..
For now, totally enjoying the war of words between Narendra Modi and the Gandhi kiddo! Let's have some prime ministerial debates, eh! - to help the neutral majority to make up their mind!
I mite vote for the current party in power..no..i am not sayin they deserve to be in power..but then with such a 'narrow' choice..i find myself out of options..m counting on the leadership of Manmohan Singh, P Chidambaram, and the youth leaders of this party
