I have only read some parts of this book - only the chapters that answered the questions in my head.
Death is a subject that has always been close to my heart and for the last one year, top and center of all my thoughts and actions.
So i was looking for something that explains the phenomenon in a way that simplifies it for us. In particular, when can a soul take that decision for itself, how does one make the transition easier, what can one do for loved ones and vice versa.
The book answers all these questions, and then some more. It explains how the soul leaves the body, what is Akaal mrityu and suMrityu, and the things we can do to facilitate a journey into the next world.
The book is best for people who are curious about the subject and looking for a Hindu philosophical answer to some of these metaphysical questions. The depth of knowledge about Hindu philosophy is subject to individual interpretation, but some answers emerge.
At some places, personal prejudices of the author take over. At some places, personal experiences help to enlighten and educate.
The writing style is engaging and almost conversational.
I recommend this book for anyone interested in the subject.
