Borrowing from Gulzar

Nargis
Earthquake in China
Serial Blasts in Jaipur (India)

रोज़ सुबह अखबार मेरे घर , खून से लथपथ आता है ॥
( I get a blood soaked newspaper every morning)

And on the sudden rains in Delhi, my favorite rain song, and my favorite lines

How I wish time can be turned to those two evenings we spent together this time with role reversals..:)

My frequency of talking to Buddy and you is almost similar.:(

Hi ~nm: Some coincidences leave one speechless. I don't know many people who think of these lines when it rains.

Hi chiya: Will call you to understand this comment. :-)

Hi human being: Will try and add a translation for you. Here goes:

Come again, o travelling cloud,
i will set pearls in your wings..

I know the season when you leave,
Do you also come back?
I do not know if you love me as I love you
Maybe I should ask the dark rain drops, falling thick from you...

When you come back, pass by the little bridge
And you will find me there..

Hi jyoti: Thanks!

Thank you so much dearest friend for taking the time to translate such a lovely song...
It IS beautiful...and illustrative...
The way the persona is talking to the cloud is so emotional... especially when he says the cloud can find him by the bridge when she's back...

I saw it as a dialog between two lovers...
And that image of setting pearls on the wings of a cloud is so original...
Think from now on my rainy days will be more musical as i have another beautiful song to hum...

yes ma`m... i think this is real comment for newspaper..
i just recall some lines.. When mrs Sheela Dikshit, chief minister of Delhi, joined the guest editor for a day... she stopped a news(about a murder) on the main page..

normally editors publish those news on front… and as the news paper is full of crime and other negative news.. ..!

sweet song… I m in cold due to 1st rain bath…:P

Hi Human Being: Yes, you must also get the tune, its a very haunting tune to hum. And i agree, it IS a dialogue between two lovers - that eternal thing.

Hi Varun: you liked the translation? God! Thanks! I am usually so poor at translation.

Hi deeps: you had a rain bath?! Am totally envious!

I'm afraid I cannot recognize the song, but rain is such a powerful image of rejuvenation that it haunts almost every artistic form be it writing, dance, music, drama, cinema...
