Need Help/Suggestions Please!

Ishaan (my 7 month old son) was diagnosed with Eczema.

It's been a month and the little thing has been on steroids non stop.
The doctor assures me that the only way to treat Atopic Dermatitis is through Steroids, Antibiotics and then Non Steroidal Anti inflamatory drugs, when the symptoms are not so bad. (Basically, symptom supression)

He has been on anti allergy drops for children for over a month. Still, we encounter a new allergy practically every week!

I am, at the moment, pretty inconsolable, and anything you can say to help, WILL help.

Has any of you ever encountered another child with Atopic Dermatitis? What helped? Has anyone ever tried Homeopathy? Did it work? Anything else that I should know?

Thanks people!

Homeopathy will surely work. My sister who stays in Germany has faced this with her son. His head was so badly covered with it. If I show you the picture you will be really horrified!! I don't remember what she used but it was cured without any anitbiotics. Madmomma's daugther also had eczema and the last I knew she was using homeopathy. Her blog URL is http://thebratthebeanandbedlam.wordpress.com/
Try to reach her get her own experience details.

I'm afraid I'm clueless but my thoughts and prayers are with you and your six month old. I'm sure you'll find it in yourself the strength and the forbearance to get you through this trying time.

yes yes yes ... homeopathy works well... and homeopathic doctors in India are among the best...

allopathic medicine just suppresses ... just the signs are wiped out ... no real cure... if you continue such medicine the problem goes to more importnat organs than skin...
trust homeopathy and give a happy life to your lovely child....
i use it for myself and my daughter and also my husband ... good results...

I've got eczema, part of an inheritance from my mother. I use a steroidal cream, but oatmeal baths and moisturizing creams with oatmeal seem to help a bit. Only bathe the child in cool water, not hot showers and switch to soap that is non-allergenic. I use Dove.

My son has wheezing because his airways are very sensitive. The doc has put him on inhaler, which is steroids again. He is a lot better now. You should probaby get in touch with http://thebratthebeanandbedlam.wordpress.com/, like ~nm said. Her daughter was given homeopathy I think. She'd be able to give you a different perspective. All the best. Don't worry.

dont panic. its going to be okay. i took my daughter to Dr batras clinic. i am sure other homoeopaths would do just as well... the only thing is, that it takes a while so you have to keep the faith and not give up on the course.

Hubby's niece has had acute eczema for 9 years now. Homeopathy completely screwed her case - but we also know of a couple whose daughter almost completely over it - lots of precautions needed. And please please get a second, third, fourth opinion before u give your child steroids....

If it helps I cud put you in touch with my sis in law who has been living with eczema-saddled kid for 9 years now.
Big hug and take care

My son Rishab had infantile eczema when he was 4 months. He had it on his face, neck, armpits, hollow of the knee and tummy. I haven't mentioned head and ears, as I think that had more to do with craddle cap, as he had a very thick crust on his head which kept coming back, if I removed it. I got some steroid free creams from his doctor. Since Rishab did not scratch too much, I could live with it as his doctor, who also uses naturopathy, reassured me that it will go away with time.
But in your case, as he seems to be reacting allergic to a lot fo things, you need to talk to a specialsist. And I would not hesitate to consult a second doctor as well, in case you are not satisfied with his treatment.
If you don't know it already, do not introduce too many foods to him in one go and avoid spices. Stick to just one thing for a week and see how his body accepts it.
Wish you good luck!
Ishan is a nice name. Infact, it was on my list of final names I choose for Rishab.

I don't know if you can beat eczema, she might outgrow it, but with the right treatments you can hold it at bay.
